Coach Database
What is the SASSOT Coach Database?
The coach database has been introduced to support the credibility of our Staffordshire coaches. It has been designed in conjunction with National Governing bodies, Local Autorities and Education partners. SASSOT currently holds details of coaches who all meet a minimum set of criteria and have registered on the database.
Employers i.e. registered schools or local authorities, can search the information to locate a coach required for vacancies within their organisation. In order to register on the database, coaches need to have met the following criteria:
- First Aid
- Safequarding & Protecting Children
- A relevant coaching qualification for their chosen sport(s)
- NGB membership (National Governing Body)
- Insurance cover for sport(s) delivered
If you have the above and register via the application form providing all copies of the above, your contact details will appear on the database. Interested employers will contact you directly.
Why should I join?
Sports coaching jobs aren't generally advertised in the national press. Purely because an organisation offering the job would be swamped with CVs from every wanna-be-coach from the length and breadth of Britain! Some new coaches choose to send out their CVs speculatively to coaching schemes and companies not knowing whether they have jobs on offer. Timing and luck is everything in this industry! So getting your name and profile in front of a coaching co-ordinator at the time they're actually looking for new coaches is crucial. That's where we come in!
How do you become a member?
To register you need to complete the Coach Database registration form and submit copies of your qualifications, coach licence and CPD certificates to Kam Webster. Please see below where it states, Want to Register.
What invitations to attend workshops and seminars will I receive?
Local coaching authorities and education authorities often run coaching workshops and seminars. We will email the details to you as and when they happen. This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about how coaching sessions are run and to meet people in the industry. In addition, SASSOT run a comprehensive coach education programme enabling you to keep your essential certificates up to date. We will email you details of all our workshops.

Am I guaranteed a coaching job?
We cannot guarantee that you will be chosen for a coaching job through being listed on the site. However, we have employers from across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent searching the database for coaches. They will always check to see if there's an available coach on the database before looking elsewhere and we're adding more employees to the list all the time!
What happens once I've applied?
Once we receive your application and we've confirmed eligibility, you will receive a letter confirming your registration along with a unique coach database number. Your details will then be added to the database for employers to view.
