Coaching System Support Network (CSSN)

The Coaching System Support Network (CSSN) has now been launched in Staffordshire & Stoke On Trent since the introduction of the new Coaching Development Manager for the County Sports Partnership, Lee Booth.

CSSN's are defined as local partnerships of organisations which have agreed to work collaboratively to support the needs of the governing bodies in the delivery of their coaching systems at a local level. The key purpose of the CSSN is to bring local co-ordination and to attract local resources to coaching, in a way which adds real value to the governing bodies and the delivery of their coaching plans, and which brings additional support to coaches at a local level.

Sport England has committed resources to appoint 49 Coaching Development Managers, who will work to establish 49 local CSSNs within England - one in each county sports partnership area within England. This investment has been made through county sports partnerships as part of Sport England's investment plan to involve 1 million more people in sport and sportscoachUK is responsible for providing the strategic lead for the work of the CSSN.

The SASSOT Workforce consultation was carried out between April and July 2010 with a range of partners and the findings of this will help to shape the priorities of the CSSN. It is anticipated that the CSSN Delivery Plan will be available as part of the overall wider Workforce Strategy by Novemer 2010.
