South Staffordshire District Active Recreation Network
South Staffordshire District Council wish to develop and build a culture within South Staffordshire, which creates an environment that supports and promotes the whole community to be active and participate in physical recreation and sport increasing local health, social and economic wellbeing.
The aim is to achieve this through action plans with partners to accomplish a coordinated approach in the development of physical recreation within South Staffordshire, which will be delivered through mainstreamed and externally funded interventions
This network will be called South Staffordshire District Community Sports Network (CSN).
The first meeting for the CSN took place on the 1st October 2007 at the Council Offices in Codsall. This meeting brought together the following organisations: -
- South Staffordshire District Council
- Primary Care Trust
- County Sports Partnership linked to National Governing Bodies
- School Sport Partnership
- Community Learning Partnership and Early Years
- Age Concern South Staffordshire
- Community and Voluntary Services
- Sports Council
- Community Safety
- Connexions
- Private Sector
The CSN will strategically lead further development of sport and active recreation within the South Staffordshire District to raise and sustain participation.
