There are many different sports and activities that thousands of people participate in every year from a professional level through to an unstructured fun session with friends or family.
Sport is great as it can be adapted in a large number of ways to accommodate anybody who wishes to participate at some level. Some sports are more accessible than others but most have created adapted versions to cater for different disabilities.
Some people think that just because someone has a disability they wouldn't be able to participate in an activity, however if you are determined enough you can quite often work out a solution to enable you to participate to some level.
This Disability Sport section of the SASSOT website has been designed to help inform, educate and highlight disability sport and show the level of importance that Sport Across Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent place on it.
SASSOT has a Disability Sport & Physical Activity Officer who is responsible for developing and informing people on opportunties around Disabiltiy Sport. This work has encompassed a wide range of different activities that are shown within this section. If you feel it is missing anything please feel free to let us know.
