Welcome from Mark fosbrook
Hi I am Mark Fosbrook and I am the Aiming High Disability Sport & Physical Activity Officer.
I am proud to announce our new newsletter which is focused on disability sport and physical activity. Since coming into the role in January I have been gathering useful pieces of information about disability issues, events, contacts and much more. I soon realised that althoguh I was gathering this information there were a lot of people who were unaware of this information and that it was not being shared around the County. I started to do this by sending out emails but have now decided to make the logic step and produce a regular newsletter.
Disabilit-e News is the result. I am keen to use this newsletter to showcase events, club activities and interesting stories and information from disabled children & adult participants and coaches and volunteers.
If you have any articles, information or wish to promote your club please email me:

More about Mark Fosbrook
I have a wealth of experience with disability and with sport, both in my personal and business life.
I am a double below knee amputee with congenital deformities to my hands. Basically I have two fingers on each hand and no feet or ankles. This was a condition I was born with and has an official name of Ectrodactyl.
Having this disability has in no way stopped me from achieving my goals. I found sport at a young age and soon realised that I could use it to show that my disability did not affect me. I went through mainstream education and faced numerous challenges but I used sport as my motivator.
I have always worked within the sport and leisure environment. I have managed fitness clubs, run a sports department at a Specialist college and have also been the Performance Manager for the Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby Squad. These previous roles have given me a wealth of experience to bring to this role and I am looking forward to developing opportunities for young disabled people throughout Staffordshire.
Some of my major sporting highlights
1996 Paralympics, Atlanta, Volleyball, Squad Player
2006 World Championships Wheelchair Rugby, Player
2008 Paralympics, Beijing Wheelchair Rugby, Team Manager
2007 & 2008 British Indoor Rowing Champion |
