Staffordshire Stars
We recently asked clubs to complete a Disability Sport Provision Survey to find out what disability provision is being provided by clubs and what support they need to develop further. We had 26 clubs respond and they were entered into a prize draw to receive £50 for their club.
The winner of the £50 was a club that actually do a lot for disabled people within football.
Stafford Town Dragons is a football section of Stafford Town FC especially for people with disabilities who do not get a chance to play football in a mainstream setting. We have just moved to Stafford Sports College for all our training of our footballers on Wednesday evenings. These are split into 3 age groups, adults, under 16's and under 12's with the youungest players being 7. We have been set up for 2 years and this will be our third sesaon. All our
coaches are CRB checked with level 1 coaching qualifications from staffordshie FA. Staffordhisre FA put on monthly tournaments against fellow disabled teams in Staffordshire. This is term time only appart from December when we take a break from FA organised matches but we train for the whole school year. For further information please contact Jon Binns Chairman Stafford Town Dragons 01785 665232.
We still want more responses for our survey to build up a strong database that we can share with people to raise awareness. If your club still hasn't completed the survey then click on the link
