Welcome
Welcome and I'm Back
Welcome to the 19th Edition of Disabilit-e News.
Please accept my apologies for there not being any issues in January and only this one for February.
You may or may not be aware that I was due to become a father in December. Unfortunately we found out on Christmas Day that our precious baby Lily was sleeping and was stillborn on the 27th Dec. Obviously this has been a devestating time for my family and I have been off work until now. As a result this newsletter was put to one side.
On a positive note I attended the GB Wheelchair Basketball Selection Camp and made the cut. I am now travelling to Spain on the 21st Feb to play in a series of matches as the coach tries out different line ups and tactics before the next selection camp in April when he will selected his final squad for this years European Championships
There have been some excellent things happening around the County while I have been off and I am trying to bring myself back up to speed on all of these. However I was keen to get a newsletter out asap with at least some of the things going on.
Most noticably in this issue is a change of date for our Family Fun Day at Burntwood Leisure Centre. This is now going to be held on 20th March. We also have an additional Autism in Sport Course which is on 29th March.
We have also received funding to run a Boccia Leaders Course - More news to follow shortly.
There are also some excellent events being organised by the G8way team and othe Aiming High providers.
