KIDS Playwork Inclusion Project Network Seminars. Now available to book.
Our theme this time is "Myth-Busting", where we hope to reconnect with good basic inclusive playwork practice. We are gathering myths around inclusion of disabled children in play and are planning on setting the record straight!
There will be the opportunity for discussion and networking with other practitioners as always, and the day will offer anyone working towards inclusion in play the opportunity to build on and share their experiences; showcase examples of good practice and to exchange information, advice and guidance.
Dates confirmed so far are:
West Midlands: Wednesday 9th June - Coventry
East Midlands: Friday 21st May - Northampton
PIP seminars cost £10 per person, including a buffet lunch, delegate pack and resources to take away. Venue details will be sent on booking.
To book your place please complete and email the attached booking form to: pip@kids.org.uk

Adaptive rowing in the West Midlands
It has been a busy year for adaptive rowing in the West Midlands. From having almost zero rowing activity for those with a disability, this has now grown to five rowing clubs in the Region able to provide activity on the water with coaching, coaching support and training.
The West Midlands Disability Rowing Association (WMDRA) has been able to provide training, run events and, with the help of several generous grants and donations, purchase a range of equipment. This activity has only been possible with support from British Rowing, The West Midlands Rowing Council, Sport England, Awards for All, Youell Foundation, EFDS and NPower Active. The hard work was recognised recently at the EFDS & NPower Awards Evening,
held at Aston Villa Football Club, where the WMDRA and two if its athletes were nominated for awards..
