As you know the Aiming High funding of services came to an end of 31 March 2011.
We have now agreed to extend some activities for a further 6 months. In the meantime we will be reviewing the service provision we have received and agreeing our budget. We will then be in a position to know what funding opportunities we will have for 2011-2012. Once we are aware of these we will let you and Providers know about them.
The services which will be continuing for 6 months are:
The services will all continue to provide the same services for the next 6 months.
The Parent Partnership service will be continuing for 12 months to support the Parent Board and the continuation of the E forum.

Powerchair Football Staffordshire FA Ability Counts Awareness Programme 2011Aiming High, in partnership with Staffordshire FA, have been delivering wheelchair football sessions between 2 new ‘hubs’.
These are situated at Blackfriars Special School, Newcastle on a Wednesday afternoon from 4.00pm - 5.00pm and with Able Too United at Shobnall Leisure Complex on a Thursday night from 5.15pm - 6.15pm.
These sessions are open to anyone interested in Powerchair Football with the aim of creating teams to enter a regional league.
Andy Weston, County Development Manager at Staffordshire Football Association said ‘It has enabled children and young people who use a wheelchair in Staffordshire the opportunity to take part in fun, structured football activity.
With the initial sessions been successful we will look to ensure that the provision is ongoing. We are delighted to be in a position to offer this in Staffordshire’.
