Disability forum chairmen unveiled
Ian Martin welcomed the appointments of chairmen, claiming they will "help to drive disability cricket to the next level"
The ECB has appointed Jeff Levick, Martyn Dobson, Paul Millman and Mahesh Patel as voluntary chairmen for the four newly-created Regional Disability Cricket Development Forums.
The forums will provide strategic direction and relevant expertise to support county boards in the delivery of their disability development plans to ensure the growth, excellence and sustainability of disability cricket.
Levick has been appointed as chairman for the South and West Forum. During his 50-year involvement in cricket as a player, coach, umpire and administrator, he has been instrumental in developing disability cricket in Hampshire.
Dobson will chair the Midlands Forum and brings a wealth of knowledge from his role as community development officer at Nottinghamshire.
The London and East Forum will be chaired by Millman, who from 1999-2009 held the role of chief executive of Kent, where he was responsible for both the first-class and recreational game.
Patel has worked for 13 years at Sporting Equals and the English Federation of Disability Sport and will be taking the role of chairman for the North Disability Forum.
The appointed chairmen will drive the development of a network of expertise that can support of the county boards in their regions.
They will work closely with both national disability cricket managers and the regional development managers to support the delivery of the national strategy and objectives in their region.
