THE DISABLED BRITISH OPEN 2011 The Disabled British Open took place on the 20th-21st August at East Sussex National Golf Resort and Spa. It is the largest and most inclusive competition in the Country for disabled golfers.
This years winner was Duncan Hamilton-Martin of St George's Hill Golf Club. Duncan won the tournament with rounds of 74 and 71 for a total of 145 (+1).
The Junior Disabled Open was won by Frankie Jones. The 2011 tournament will be broadcast on Sky Sports as follows: 3rd October - Sky Sports 4 - 17.30 3rd October - Sky Sports 4 - 24.00 4th October - Sky Sports 2 - 12.00 4th October - Sky Sports 4 - 15.00 (scheduling subject to change) The Disabled British Open is part of Accentuate, a transformational programme of 15 projects, inspired by the Paralympic Movement, which seeks to change perceptions and offer opportunities to showcase the talents of deaf and disabled people. Accentuate is funded by Legacy Trust UK, creating a lasting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games across the UK, SEEDA and the regional cultural agencies. Screen South is the home of Accentuate.
EFDS Open Snooker Championships 2011 08.10.2011 to 09.10.2011 Rileys Snooker and Pool Hall, Kirkmanshulme Lane, Manchester, M18 7BA
The EFDS Open Snooker championships will take place on the 8 and 9 October at Rileys, Snooker and Pool Hall, Manchester.
Bringing together disabled players from across the country, the event offers the opportunity for a high standard of competition snooker. There are 6 competiton groups based on the EFDS profile system.
The event is supported by the Paul Hunter Foundation who will launch the tournament with a display of trick shots and high speed potting.
Weekend entry is £20 per person. Entry packs, including all information on the groupings can be downloaded from www.disabilitysport.org.uk or below.

International Paralympic Day to Showcase Elite Sport ahead of Ticket Launch Leading athletes from around the UK and around the world will come together in London next month as the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) hosts International Paralympic Day 2011.
The event will take place in Trafalgar Square on 8th September 2011 - a day ahead of the Paralympic Games ticket launch - and will allow the public to experience first hand the inspiration and excitement that the Paralympic Games will bring to the UK next year.
Highlights of the day will include the chance to see Paralympic Gold Medalist and BT Ambassador Oscar Pistorius in action, and a Sitting Volleyball Guiness World Record attempt.
There will be demonstrations of a wide range of sports including Wheelchair Basketball, and Wheelchair Rugby, while ParalympicsGB stars such as Ellie Simmonds and Sascha Kindred will also take part in the celebrations.
The day will also see the International Paralympic Committee extend an invitation to athletes and National Paralympic Committees around the world to participate in the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Tickets for the London 2012 Paralympic Games will go on sale the following day, with applications open from 9th - 26th September 2011. Approximately two million tickets will go on sale, with more than one million people having already registered their interest online.
