Welcome to the 7th edition of Disabilit-e News. What a fantastic couple of weeks in the world of Disability Sport.

 

We now have over 150 people subscribed to this publication and it is growing all the time. So please tell your colleagues, friends, teams etc that this newsletter is the place to find out about what is happening with disability sport.

 

We have run successful Playground to Podium County Athlete Assessment days where disabled children where identified as potential talent for the future and attended several days to be assessed by National Coaches. 

 

The Annual Special Schools Sports Festival has taken place and was a great success with over 330 children attending.

 

The Disability Folder has now been launched and can be used to promote clubs, events and much more.

 

Stafford are launching a Disability Sport Forum to help give Stafford a clear direction to developing disability sport within the district. All are welcome to attend on Tues 20th July, 6pm at Civic Centre, Stafford.

 

Outside of Staffordshire we see the World Wheelchair Basketball Championships taking place in Birmingham. here you will see the top Countries in the world battle it out for the Championship Title.

 

Danielle Brown has been the first disabled person ever to be selected to represent England at the Commonwealth Games in a non-disability event.
