Fencing Fencing

Some of the disabilities that participate in this sport are:

  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Amputees
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Other disabilities that require the use of a wheelchair

The focus of disabilities is very much focused on athletes in a wheelchair.

Unlike able-bodied fencing, wheelchair fencing is static: the fencers are clamped to the piste using a metal frame. Beyond this, the sport is largely similar to its able-bodied counterpart.
