  • Amputees
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Spina bifida
  • Full use of their upper limbs
  • A disability affecting all four limbs
  • Limited mobility in their lower limbs
  • Severe Disabilities

 

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of 6 players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules.

 

The sport can be participated by numerous disabilities in a variety of ways. Some more severe disabilities may play in their wheelchairs using a balloon as a fun activity, however as a sport it can be played by:

Lower limb impairments

 

Sitting Volleyball

Volleyball as been adapted into a sitting game which is open to able bodied players as well as disabled. It is played on a smaller court and the net is lower. Players sit on the floor so must have good sitting balance and be able to move around on the floor.
