There are various types of support available to individuals and clubs. These can range from money through to equipment and physical support.

 

Trying to find support can sometimes be a scary process and knowing where to start can be an issue. Below are some funding streams that are available. This list is by no means exhaustive and it is still advisable to conduct your own research to find other organisations providing support.

 Purpose  The Lloyds TSB Foundation funds local, regional and national charities working to tackle disadvantage across England and Wales. Our focus is on supporting small and medium underfunded charities that can make a significant difference to the lives of disadvantaged people by helping them to play a fuller role in the community.  Our strong local presence enables us to respond directly and promptly to local needs.

 Purpose

 Whizz-Kidz provides a broad range of mobility equipment not available from the NHS or other statutory services (Social or Education Services).  The Mobility equipment we provide includes:

  • Powered Wheelchairs
  • Manual wheelchairs
  • Sports Wheelchairs
  • Adapted Tricycles and Companion Cycles
  • Scooters
  • Buggies

 Grant  Sports Wheelchairs & Athlete Support
 Purpose  Get Kids Going! is a National charity which gives disabled children and young people - up to the age of 26 yrs - the wonderful opportunity of participating in sport. We help promote sports for disabled children by providing them with specially built sports' wheelchairs so they can do marathons, triathlons, tennis, athletics, mountain skiing, rugby, basketball etc. Get Kids Going! also helps and encourages British disabled children to compete by supporting them with their sports; training, physiotherapy, travel, design and development of sports' wheelchairs. With your help many could become record holders and Paralympic champions

 Grant  Sports Equipment
 Purpose

 Since its launch, the Charity has helped hundreds of sporting youngsters reach their potential by providing sports equipment such as wheelchairs, javelins and gymnastic equipment. The Charity has now announced that funding is still available and that applications for specialist sporting equipment are welcomed from any sport.

The key criteria for successful funding are:

  • Application must be on behalf of individual child - not a team or organisation.
  • Beneficiary must be under 19 years old at time of application.
  • The child must be engaged in competitive sport and the equipment will aid their development.
  • Applicants are means tested to ensure the most needy applicants receive donations.

 Name  The UnLtd Sports Relief

 Grant  Upto £5,000
 Purpose  Live UnLtd is a youth initiastive co-ordinated by UnLtd, a support organisation. Live UnLtd provides young people aged 11-21 with exciting opportunities to develop an idea which could change their community for the better. The funding will support the start up of their own social venture; from sports teams and recreational groups to hosting events.
