Staffordshire Moorlands District Council

Rugeley Badminton Club Achieves Silver Club Accreditation

Rugeley Badminton Club was awarded the BADMINTON England Silver Club Accreditation Award on Thursday 4th April 2007.

The club is the second in Staffordshire to receive the prestigious Silver Club Award from Badminton England and Sport England Clubmark Accreditation.

Steve Griffiths and Patrick Lucas have made a huge contribution to the development of badminton within the Cannock and Rugeley area, and have dedicated much of their spare time in achieving this status, Badminton England are proud to have Rugeley Junior Badminton Club as an example of good practice and part of the accreditation scheme.

The Club provides an excellent coaching programme for the juniors at Rugeley Leisure Centre run by a team of Badminton England qualified coaches and excellent volunteers with a structured and well maintained progression pathway into senior badminton.

These are also the clubs leading the way in setting new standards for badminton clubs.  The standard they have achieved demonstrates that the clubs have strong coaching and effective management in place and that they take equality and child protection issues seriously.
