Swimmer Development Camp Receives Glowing Review

A swimming development camp, organised by the partnerships Swiming Development Officer, Sheila Mcleod was held at Denstone College near Uttoxeter on Sunday 15th April.

Four Clubs sent a total of 25 swimmers aged between 8 and 11yrs. The swimmers, parents and coaches were given lectures regarding the Long Term Athlete Development for Swimmers and the efficiency of starts and turns. There was a Land Training Session using a variety of equipment including physio balls and a pool session on skills and drills. Some of the comments are shown below indicate that the event was not only enjoyable but also beneficial.

"Good, lots of new stroke technique information enjoyed and taken on board"

"We hope there are more development days to attend, to build on what has been learnt as well as the motivation to improve"

"Excellent opportunity for both parents & children.  Would be a real benefit for this to be extended"
