Staffordshire Moorlands District Council

Cannock Chase Football Development Group score with Football Foundation grant

The Cannock Chase Football Development Group was set up 12 months ago.  The aim behind the group was to provide a focused and co-ordinated approach to the development of football in the District.

Footballers in Cannock Chase celebrated following a £8,160 grant awarded by the Football Foundation, the UK’s largest sports charity.

The cash bonanza will allow Cannock Chase Football Development Group to develop a pool of fully FA qualified coaches to deliver a number of coaching sessions enabling local clubs to create new teams and further develop school-club links.

The Football Foundation is dedicated to revitalising the grass roots of the game, constructing modern football facilities, developing football as a force for social cohesion and as a vehicle for education in communities throughout the country.  Funded by the Premier League, the Football Association and the Government, the Football Foundation is the nation’s largest sports charity with a £45m budget going straight into the heart of football.
