North Stoke School Sport Partnership link with National School Sports Week

 

On the 1st February 2008, the Prime Minister and Dame Kelly Holmes announced the launch of National School Sport Week. On the week commencing 30th June 2008, schools throughout the country will be celebrating the amazing achievements in PE and school sport over the last year. The aim is to raise the profile of PE and school sport both nationally and on a local level.

 

North Stoke School Sport Partnership (NSSSP) have the following events planned to take part in the National School Sport Week.

 

NATIONAL SCHOOL SPORTS WEEK in

North Stoke School Sport Partnership (NSSSP)


Mon 30 June 2008


Hamilton Infants School Sports Day - 1.30-2.50pm

Cycling Day at Burnwood PS - 10am-3pm

Raise school’s awareness of the Burnwood Cycle Track and the National Cycle -Route 55, introduce new and inexperienced cyclists to recreational and competitive cycling, raise awareness of cycling safety and increase the percentage of students who cycle to school.

T.Hough/St Peters Girls Rounders Comp. at St Peters HS - 11.15-1pm

T.Hough/St Peters Boys Cricket Comp. at St Peters HS - 11.15-1pm

Two sports event involving over 200 participants and sports leaders; aiming to develop stronger links between the schools.


Tue 1 July 2008

St Margaret Ward Cricket festival - 10am-12 noon and 1-3pm

Holden Lane Rounders tournament - 10am-12 noon and 1-3pm

Stoke Primary Schools Athletics Field event Finals at Northwood - 1-3pm


Wed 2 July 2008

TOP Link Olympics at Northwood Stadium - 1pm-3.30 pm

The sixth staging of an event that gives over 300 Primary students (Years 5 and 6) a chance to enjoy a large City inter school festival/competition and provide a leadership opportunity for 70 Sports leaders (Year 10-13). The event will introduce North and South SSPs students to one of the City's principal facilities.

Holden Lane Sports College Presentation Evening at Kings Hall - 7pm

Annual awards evening for Holden Lane students and the 18 sports college partner schools.


Thu 3 July 2008

Holden Lane Cluster Cluster Badminton Festival - 1-3pm

Moorpark Junior School Sports Day - 1-3pm


Fri 4 July 2008

Jackfield Infant School Sports Day - 10am-12 noon

(Date and times to be arranged)

St Peters/T.Hough activity afternoon 



Sat 5 July 2008

Partnership Youth Games at Fenton - 10am-3.30pm

The Youth Games is a celebration of sport day with over 1000 young people (aged 8-16) participating in 12 different sports during the event. The 20 young/sports ambassadors from NSSSP and 2 from each of the Staffs SSPs will be volunteering at the Games.
