Cycling with confidence camps help residents go green
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is launching a series of cycling courses to help people get on their bikes in the city. The brand new initiative, designed at getting more people cycling safely, will see 25 free courses in leisure centres across Stoke-on-Trent in the coming months. The scheme follows Stoke-on-Trent being awarded Cycling City Status by Cycle
England.
Councillor Debra Gratton, Stoke-on-Trent City Council portfolio holder for sports and leisure, said: “We are very proud to have been awarded Cycling City Status. Cycling is not only a great way to get active and help the environment it is also a fantastic activity to share with friends and family. This initiative is just one of many measures we are introducing to encourage more people to cycle in our city. Whether you simply
wish to learn how to ride a bike or require more advanced skills the courses are designed to help everyone."
