North Stoke Partnership High 5 Netball 2010
The development of High 5 Netball within the North Stoke SSP continues to go from strength to strength. The partnership set-up continues to involve new schools at a cluster level, giving the opportunity to compete to County level. Our 3rd annual Partnership Competition was a great success thanks to invaluable support from our Young Netball Organisers.
Following the cluster competitions, 12 schools qualified for the North Stoke Partnership Competition. The competition ran in two sections, with semi-finals, play-offs and a final to decide the top six schools to go through to the City competition. All twelve teams displayed great team work and provided a lot of exciting matches for spectators. Many players demonstrated a high level of skill for their age group and all teams displayed good sportsmanship.
The standard of play between the top four teams was such that only 5 points divided them. The semi-finals were closely fought between Carmountside vs Sneyd Green and Greenways vs Packmoor. Congratulations to Packmoor who won in the final. In both sections 3rd place was also a closely fought contest with Oakhill and St John’s qualifying in 5th and 6th for the Stoke City competition on goal average.
Unfortunately St John’s were unable to compete meaning that Smallthorne were able to progress to the City stage.
In October 40 leaders from North Stoke gained their Young Netball Organisers Award and have worked in our cluster schools. It was thanks to the hard work of all the leaders involved that the tournament ran so smoothly. Thank you to all the teachers and parents who supported the event and a personal thank you to Rich Adams, the Stoke Competition Manager for his support in running the event.

Stoke City High 5 Netball 2010
The Stoke City High 5 Netball Tournament took place at Fenton Manor in March. The qualifiers comprised of 6 primary schools from North Stoke and 6 from South Stoke.
A huge congratulations to St Thomas Aquinas and Sutherland from South Stoke and Packmoor and Carmountside from North Stoke who went on to qualify for the Staffordshire County High 5 Netball competition.
The Stoke City Tournament provided spectators with enjoyable first class High 5 netball skills. Many exciting matches were played, with some very close results.
The schools competing were as follows: from North Stoke new comers Oakhill, Carmountside, Packmoor, Greenways, Sneyd Green and Smallthorne, from the South of the City: Sutherland A & B, St Thomas Aquinas, St Paul’s, Glebe and Weston Coyney. The play-off for 3rd and 4th place saw Packmoor beating Carmountside1-0 in a closely fought match. The final was extremely exciting with new champions St Thomas Aquinas beating Sutherland ‘A’ 5-2, ending Sutherland’s winning streak of ten years on the trot. Well done to all four teams for their achievement.
Once again Young Netball Organisers from Stoke City High Schools were on hand to offer their invaluable support and expertise officiating the entire tournament. A big thank you to the following secondary school leaders: from Holden Lane: Holly Teece, Amelia Ellis, St Peter’s CE: Lydia Smith, Maisie Blamore, Charlotte Thompson, Charlotte Bagnall, Tamar Smith, Morgan Brissett and Beth Porter, from Thistley Hough: Charlotte Ellis-Dale, from Birches: Julia Unwin, from Trentham: Emily Flacket, Stephanie Radford, Talitho Wharton and from St Joseph’s: Abi Devaney, Shannon Oates and Rebecca Neild.
