Sponsor Wanted - Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Special Schools Sports Festival
Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent are holding a Special School Sports Festival on Thursday 1st July 2010 at Shobnall Leisure Complex, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, and we are currently looking for an event sponsor.
The Special Schools Sports festival is one of the biggest disability sporting events in the region. It is an annual celebration of sport, which focuses on participation and will be a fantastic showcase for the county's young sporting talent.
Athletes with generic learning & physical difficulties will be invited from a number of Special Schools in Staffordshire to take part in coaching sessions and compete in events including badminton, tag rugby, cricket, football, archery, hockey and athletics.
The Special Schools Sports Festival continues to go from strength to strength and is now in its 9th year. In 2009 over 250 pupils from 12 of the sub-region's Special Schools enjoyed a day to remember at the festival. The festival provided a day to celebrate sport and to develop pathways for pupils to continue to participate in sport outside of the school environment and we are hoping to build on this for 2010 and who knows, we may find a
budding 2012 Paralympics medal winner in the making.
We are currently seeking a sponsor for our 2010 festival to contribute towards the cost of staging the event and for the production and promotion of a Sport Activity Guide for people with disabilities and those with special needs.
In return, the event would offer the potential sponsor the chance of association with a fantastic sporting event and there would be a number of additional benefits for a company/organisation including;
Sponsor's logo associated with the event
The festival (and therefore your sponsorship and company) is currently promoted thorough our local, sub-regional and regional steering groups as well as through our key funding partners; Cannock Chase District Council, East Staffordshire Borough Council, Lichfield District Council, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, South Staffordshire District Council, Stafford Borough Council, Staffordshire County Council, Staffordshire Moorlands District
Council, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Tamworth Borough Council, Keele University, Staffordshire University, NHS North Staffordshire, South Staffordshire PCT, Sport England, Department of Health and Youth Sport Trust.
All promotional material, including brochures/web-site and e-newsletter, will feature the sponsor’s logo.
Sponsor’s logo will be displayed on athletes and volunteers t-shirts.
Local press releases pre and post event will mention the sponsor.
Opportunity for representatives from the sponsoring organisation to attend the VIP presentation at the festival, this involves key dignitaries from within Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent including MPs, Councillors, Mayors and Mayoresses, Headteachers, Local Authority Portfolio Holders, Heads of Leisure, National Governing Body of Sport representatives as well as hopefully an Olympic / Paralympic Champion.
Our Partnership Director, Mark Thornewill and myself would be only to pleased to meet with you to explain more about our organisation and discuss with you the opportunity of sponsorship.
