Staffordshire Moorlands District Council

New coach appointed at West Midland Swimming

West Midland Swimming has secured a grant from Sport England and has combined this with funding from the SASSOT Partnership to secure a full-time Partnership Swimming Coach.

The role will include the mentoring of coaches within the partnership, ensuring that the swimmer pathway is seamless and to establish a training environment, which ensures that all swimmers are provided with the opportunities to maximise their full potential.

Nathan Hilton, who has extensive experience in the formation of swim squads, has been appointed and will take up his position on 15th September.  Originally from Lincoln, Nathan is married, a Level 4 coach and a previous competitor with Lincoln Pentaqua.

This is an exciting opportunity for the clubs of the SASSOT Partnership and Nathan’s extensive development and performance background will be a great asset for clubs, coaches and swimmers.

The first Young Aquatic Organiser Award in the partnership is to be held at Friary Grange, Lichfield over the first three weeks in September.  Any clubs interested in providing this award for their members are to contact:
