Do you want to become a sports volunteer or are you looking for volunteers?

 

Regional Action West Midlands (RAWM) has been heavily involved in bringing together a unique partnership between the voluntary sector, the County Sports Partnerships (CSPs) and West Midlands for 2012 to develop a sports volunteering legacy for the region from the London 2012 Games.

 

 

 

The 2012 Sports Volunteering Project has developed www.wmfor2012.com/volunteering so that any member of the public from the East or West Midlands can register their interest in sports volunteering. 

 

Any potential volunteers from Staffordshire or Stoke-on-Trent will then be contacted by SASSOT who will use their networks, contacts and links to sports volunteering in their area.  Sports organisations can also register on the site to link with SASSOT to help them find volunteers for their club. 

 

The updated site now contains improved resources for clubs seeking to find volunteers, and improved information for people thinking about volunteering in sport.  The site also contains an events volunteering noticeboard – where volunteers searching for events can advertise, and interested individuals can find events to support.

 

There are thousands of voluntary opportunities across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Whatever you're interested in, whatever you can do and whatever time you have to spare, there's something to suit you.

 

Organisations throughout Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent need volunteers right now for activities ranging from coaching and marshalling to hospitality and administration. If you can spare just one day to volunteer at an event in your local area, or an hour a week to help people in your community, they would love for you to join them.

 

So if you want to enjoy yourself, meet new people, learn new skills and play a very real part in your community, go on. Take Action. Volunteer.
