Staffordshire Development Coach Rose Davies "Gets to Grips" with Draycott Racquets and Fitness Centre |
Rose Davies, the Staffordshire Development Coach for England Squash & Racketball, is working hard to progress both the junior and adult sectors within our two sports across the county. Here is an insight to some of the work she is currently carrying out and what she is planning for the New Year.
With the ongoing development plans for Racketball in Staffordshire, Rose Davies who is the England Squash & Racketball Development Coach for the county, is currently working with Draycott Racquets and Fitness Centre to try to increase participation for both juniors and adults, in the Racketball domain.
Although a small amount of Racketball is already played within the facility, Rose hopes that with the introduction of some beginner classes (including female groups), the popularity of the sport will increase and build on the platform of interest already held at the centre.
In addition, Rose is liaising with local primary schools and offering free Mini Squash taster sessions, for children aged 5 to 11 years, in the new year. This exciting activity fits the needs of younger children by offering an ideal introduction to the game of squash using brightly coloured equipment to provide a vibrant programme, which is both educational and fun. Rose hopes that this will boost the current number of juniors across the county and help coaching staff to progress with the development of their junior players.
