Streets Ahead project re-launched

 

 

East Staffordshire Borough Council has re-launched its Streets Ahead project following a successful summer holiday programme.

 

The project has now moved to indoor venues around the town during the winter months. 

 

The project, supported by Staffordshire County Council through Children’s Fund grant aid, is to provide opportunities for young people aged 6 – 16 to engage in sport and physical activity within their own communities.

 

 

The programme is designed to encourage respect for their peers and also their own community. The sessions are predominately sports based, with a range of partners invited to offer different sports and physical activities to provide participants with a variety of interests within the programme.

 

The current programme is as follows:

 

Mondays @ Queens Street Community Centre, Burton on Trent. 5.00pm – 7.00pm

Mondays  @ St Chad’s Church community Centre, Burton on Trent. 5.00-7.00pm

Wednesdays @ Carver Road Community Centre, Burton on Trent. 5.00-7.00pm

Friday @ Queens Street Community Centre, Burton on Trent. 5.00-7.00pm

 

This programme is confirmed and starts after Christmas from week commencing 11^th January. In addition to these venues we are hopefully looking to secure venues for the Tuesday and Thursday evenings, to provide activities Monday – Friday inclusive.

 

The sessions are offered free of charge, registration at each night is requested.
