Staffordshire Moorlands District Council

Community Sports Networks

This area of work is moving forward well and I would like to thank all of the Local Authorities and their partners for the hard work they have been doing.

Tamworth Borough had a very successful workshop back in December over 20 people attended representing a broad range of organisations and community sectors from Sporting Club Tamworth, The Tamworth Partnership for Sport and Recreation, private leisure facilities to education, volunteers, health and community safety. Everyone was very positive about the benefits the new Delivery System for Sport in England and forming a Community Sports Network could bring to Tamworth’s community. From this workshop an executive board was selected to drive Tamworth’s Community Sports Network forward. Their first meeting was held in February. Lichfield District, East Staffordshire Borough and Stafford Borough all have their first meetings or workshops arranged for this month and March. We look forward to keeping you updated of their successes and progress.

If you would like any further information on or would like to get involved in you local Community Sports Networks please contact Wendy Anderson, Active Recreation Manager 01785 619695 e-mail wanderson@staffordbc.gov.uk.
