Disability Awareness Day at Stoke City FC

Staffordshire FA and Stoke City FC are holding their annual Disability Awareness Day on Saturday 8th March 2008 at the Britannia Stadium. The event is held every year to highlight and promote Disability Football throughout the county.

I
n the past this event has been extremely well received and we are hoping that this year will be bigger and better; the day will star footballers with a range of disabilities receiving free fun coaching sessions from coaches who have taken The FA’s Coaching Disabled Footballers' Certificate.

The afternoon will see winners of the Staffordshire FA’s Annual Special Schools Tournament held in September, take to the field before the Stoke City v Burnley game to receive their winner’s trophy and medals before taking in the game at Britannia Stadium. At half time there will be a demonstration match on the pitch highlighting that people, regardless of age, race, gender or disability can access football and that disability football is fully supported by the Staffordshire FA and Stoke City FC.

If you know of any individual / disability organisation that would like to become involved in the day please contact Jamie Leaning on 01785 256994, 07800619884 or jamie.leaning@staffordshirefa.com for further information.
