We are currently looking for Volunteers to be part of the European Gymnastics Championships which is being held in Birmingham at the National Indoor Arena 21st April – 2nd May.

 

We are targeting ages 15 years and above and there are plenty of roles to choose from. A knowledge of Gymnastics would be essential in certain areas.

Volunteering in the Sport and Physical
Activity Sectors

SAVE THE DATE : 28-04-2010

Capitalising on the demand for Volunteering in the Sport and Physical Activity Sectors: A Call to Action
Wednesday 28^th April, 2010 - 9.30am to 4pm
Birmingham and Midland Institute,
Birmingham City Centre.

 

With employment and opportunities hard to come by, Volunteer Centres in the region are seeing increases of 100-400% in their volume of enquiries.  This, alongside the Inspiration of the 2012 Games and government promotion of volunteering and community involvement, means that sport and physical activity has to be ready to capitalise on this interest and grow.

 

The Conference is a Call to Action to stimulate new thinking and actions to deal directly with the barriers and issues around this.  With keynote national speakers giving the strategic context, facilitated working groups, and best practice examples, attendees will leave with new information, networks and ideas to take back to their work.

 

The conference is sponsored by the Department of Health, Physical Activity Network West Midlands, Volunteering England and Regional Action West Midlands 2012 Sports Volunteering Project and in developed in partnership with the West Midlands County Sports Partnership Network.  It builds on seminars held last year with CSPs and Regional Action West Midlands' Infrastructure Development consortia and their members.

 

The conference is FREE, will be between 9.30am and 4pm with lunch provided.
