Youth Games coming to Stoke-on-Trent

SASSOT are pleased to announce that the 2008 Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Youth Games will take place on Saturday 5th July at Fenton Manor Sports Complex, Stoke-on-Trent.

This one-day, multi-sport event last took place in 2005, when funding for the Active Sports programme drew to a close.  However, due to all the Local Authorities of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent committing funding, SASSOT are now in a position to relaunch the event.

SASSOT have appointed an event management company, Big Cat Group, to work closely with them on the delivery of the event, and the team are in the process of confirming which sports will be involved on the day.  Currently, the sports that have expressed an interest in being involved are triathlon, girls cricket, girls football, rugby, orienteering, judo, table tennis and canoeing, with badminton and squash looking to be demonstration sports.
