Sports Club Accreditation Funding 7th Round Open
The SASSOT Sports Club Accreditation funding scheme aims to increase the number of sports clubs being accredited or re-accredited with Clubmark, NGB Accreditation or the SASSOT QualityMark.
All sports clubs benefiting from this funding must be based within Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent to qualify and commit to achieving accreditation within 6 months.
Applications can only be received from sports clubs, National Governing Bodies of Sport, Local Councils or school partners.
Bradwell Bombers FC and Burntwood St Matthews Cricket Club were all successful in securing funding in Round 6 for club accreditation or re-accreditation.

Workshop dates have been planned across the Staffordshire County and as soon as dates/venues are confirmed, they will be made available on the website. Please keep checking, as dates will be added daily – and not in one full list.
We aim to offer a wide variety of workshops to help clubs, coaches and volunteers develop and keep up to date with topics such as child protection, disability, equity, mentoring, funding and fitness. Our workshops are organised in partnership with sports coach UK, runningsports and a First Aid organiser.
The First Aid For All workshop is delivered through the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS), one of the most respected First Aid Training organisations in the country.
It is relevant to most sports. However, as certain sports have more stringent requirements for Clubmark and coaching purposes, delegates should check with their NGB before enrolling on this course.
We continue to deliver regular workshops such as Safeguarding & Protecting Children, Equity in your Coaching and A Club for All. Please note that due to declining numbers on the Equity in Your Coaching and A Club for All workshops, these have been reduced to reflect demand.
If you find that you cannot attend the workshops we have planned, contact Kam and she will help you find alternatives.
Remember also that CLOSED workshops can be organised to suit the needs of a Club / organisation – in terms of the venue, date and time.
Workshop attendance fees remain as follows -
|

| First Aid | £12.50 each |

Active People Survey 4 results were published in December 2010. The results nationally paint a mixed picture of progress in grassroots sport, with strong growth in running and cycling but a decline in other major sports, including football and swimming. Overall, the slow but steady increase in participation numbers seen over the past five years continues, with 6,938,000 people now taking part in sport at least three times a week. Active People
Survey 4 results show that regular participation is now 123,000 closer to the Government’s aim to get one million people playing more sport by 2012/13
Active People Survey 4 (2009/10) began on 15 October 2009 and was completed on 14 October 2010, using a sample size of 500 participants per local authority. The survey measures two headline results: NI8 and The One Million Target and 6 other key performance indicators. Staffordshire results have been collated and summarised below.
Staffordshire results against the ‘One Million’ show that only two local authorities witnessed a positive direction of travel. It is important to note however that the decrease in percentage by the other local authorities is not considered to be statically significant and therefore presents a picture of ‘No Change’. Nationally only 6.2% of all local authorities witnessed a significant ‘Increase’ in result against this target. Furthermore only 2 of the 49 County Sports Partnerships witnessed a significant ‘Increase’ in result against this target.
Staffordshire results against the NI8 target show that 6 local authorities witnessed a positive direction in travel. Nationally only 10% of all local authorities witnessed a significant ‘Increase’ in result against this target.
