Girls Go 4 Green - Free Golf Coaching available for Girls
The Staffordshire County Golf Partnership have secured Sport Unlimited funding to provide free golf coaching to girls across Staffordshire. The programme, called “Girls Go 4 Green” is delivered in conjunction with 14 golf facilities across the county.
Golf is an excellent sporting option for young people who do not enjoy the usual team based options. This is especially true for relatively inactive girls who are looking for a fulfilling and rewarding sport to help get them active.
It is a game that does not require extreme fitness or traditional sporting skills to gain satisfaction, enjoyment and rewards.
Within golf, girls are sadly under-represented and on average there are only 2 girl junior members per golf club in England.
Staffordshire County Golf Partnership have secured Sport Unlimited funding to support Girls Go 4 Green aimed specifically at encouraging non-playing girls to give golf a go. A programme of 8 coaching sessions is provided by PGA level 3 coaches free of charge at 14 of centres across Staffordshire, details of which are on the partnership website:
