Staffordshire Moorlands District Council

East Staffordshire Sports Council Receives Grant

East Staffordshire Sports Council is pleased to report that it has been awarded a Grant Fund to assist Sports Clubs in the East Staffordshire area to purchase equipment.  It is also looking for applications for the Sporting Excellence Awards.

East Staffordshire Sports Council has been in existence for over 40 years – possibly one of the longest running Sports Councils in the country.

It works closely with the Borough Council on all matters sporting. It sponsors two awards at the Council’s Sporting Excellence Awards, including the Junior Team and Club Administrator of the year, (there are other categories, including coach of the year – contact Shobnall Sports Centre for more details.)

It organises the Inter Town Sports Week against South Derbyshire on a bi-annual basis.

It is delegated by the Council to award Grants to Sports Clubs playing in the East Staffordshire area. Recent Awards have included a catching cradle for a local cricket club, a lawn scarifier for a bowls club, rowing machines.

For application forms for the Awards, and further details about the Grant Aid, please contact:

Karen Wright on 01283 815387 or 0776 486 0437.
