3 Hammers achieves RangeMark
The 3 Hammers Golf Complex, Coven is the first in Staffordshire and the West Midlands to be awarded the prestigious national RangeMark accreditation by the English Golf Union (EGU) and English Womens’ Golf Association (EWGA).
The RangeMark accreditation scheme has been created to recognise golfing venues that are at the forefront of developing the game of golf. Accredited venues have to deliver a wide range of teaching facilities for all groups including children, women and experienced golfers alike. An ability to demonstrate high standards including duty of care and Child Protection policies are all a crucial part of the RangeMark award.
3 Hammers is one of only 12 ranges nationally to be granted Range Mark accreditation, and the only range in the West Midlands region.
The initiative is run by the EGU and EWGA governing bodies who recognise the fundamental role of venues such as the 3 Hammers in ‘Growing the Game’ as they are so often the starting point for newcomers to golf, as well as providing coaching and practice facilities for golfers of all standards. RangeMark accredited golf facilities, short courses or driving ranges ensure a safe, welcoming and affordable environment for beginners and juniors.
3 Hammers Golf Professional, Piers Ward commented; “We are thrilled in achieving the award. This shows our duty to operating a friendly and welcoming facility and creating opportunities for all people to experience and participate in the game of golf.”
Rangemark have awarded the 3 Hammers Golf Complex for their first rate facilities including an undercover 23 bay automated driving range, 18 hole short course, indoor putting green and 10,000sqft purpose built teaching academy all supporting by 3 PGA fully qualified Golf Professionals. In addition to their bar, bistro and golf shop they are all open to the public 7 days a week.
PGA Professional Piers also added “Gaining Range Mark is a great reward for the efforts we have put into continually improving our facilities and it demonstrates our commitment to providing high quality facilities at affordable prices.”
Based in Coven, near Wolverhampton the 3 Hammers is now the number 1 Golf Academy in the Midlands region and 6th in the UK and Ireland teaching the sport to over 200 children every week.
