Don't Miss Out, Get Out !
Children can enjoy a wide range of fun activities this Summer Holiday (from Thursday 28 July to Friday 2 September) with Stafford Borough Council’s Get Out! programme.
There are courses in athletics, tennis, golf, football and cycling all delivered by top quality coaches from the Sports Development team in addition to the popular sports of all sports all-day sports club.
The mobile skatepark will be at six different locations throughout the holidays: Hixon, Springfields First School, Walton High School, Weston, Christ Church Middle School and Little Haywood. Skates, boards and BMX are all allowed on the park.
H-Zone
Stafford Leisure Centre has a range of activities available to keep the boredom at bay with gymnastics and trampoline sessions, multi-activity days, the H-Zone interactive gym and dance-mats and lots of pool activities including the sea scooters.
Free swimming for children 16 years and under is also available from Monday to Friday at Stafford Leisure Centre (11am – 12noon and 3pm – 3.30pm) and from Tuesday to Friday at Alleyne’s Sports Centre in Stone (10am – 11am and 11am – 12noon).
Stafford Castle has activities in August on Wednesdays (for 5 to 7 year olds) and Thursdays (for 8 to 12 year olds), ranging from the grail quest and woodland watch to crafty crafts and Olympic heroes.
There will be a free Whizz-Kids wheelchair skills training course from Monday 8 to Wednesday 10 August, and disabled children and their families can have a great end to the summer break with the Reach For It Family Fun Day on Saturday 3 September at Rowley Park.
