SASSOT Launch Workforce Development Plan |
In November 2006 Sport England West Midlands tasked all CSPs in the region to produce Workforce Development Plans that articulate the workforce needs of the sub region in the context of achieving a 1% increase in sports participation year on year.
To support this process IFF Research were commissioned to undertake a workforce survey with all key partners in the Staffordshire sub region including local authorities, education, health, NGB and the private sector partners. This research was completed in March 2007.
Using the evidence from the IFF Research workforce survey as well as from the 2004/05 coaching strategy consultation, the delivery of the CSCS and the review of the CSP in 2005/6, SASSOT have produced a comprehensive Partnership Workforce Development Plan. The over arching purpose of which is to build the capacity of the Partnership to successfully deliver the headline target of increasing participation by 1%.
The workforce development plan has recently been signed off for implementation by Sport England and can now be viewed in full on the SASSOT website, click here. As part of the wider CIF Portfolio process SASSOT has made an application to Sport England West Midlands to resource the workforce plan. Information on the progress of this bid and the implementation of the plan will be circulated as and when it becomes available.
