Staffordshire Girls County Championships |
The County Finals is an annual competition where school teams from all 9 districts of the County meet to play against each other in a series of mini soccer matches.
The schools who participated on the day had won the right to represent their district through competing in and winning their local event which had been organised by the districts School Sports Partnership, Borough Council or Sports Association and with the support of local girls football clubs.
At the finals, a total of 23 teams participated across 4 different age groups, all playing 7v7 matches. The winners and runners up from each group were decided by the teams finishing in 1st and 2nd place in their league table, with the exception of the year 5&6 competition who required a final to find the overall winners. There was also a fair play trophy awarded to one school in each age group.
The Staffordshire FA would like to thank all who attended on the finals day including players, supporters, teams managers and volunteers. We would also like to thank everyone involved in organising the qualifying events in each of the districts and for their support for girls football throughout the competition.
