Cannock Chase Council - "Aiming High" - Access for All |
Cannock Chase Council Sports Development Team were successful in securing funding from the “Aiming High” programme for the disabled, linking directly into its “Chase It” Young Persons Activity Scheme.
The aim will be to increase the range and availability of these activities for disabled children and young people, while also giving a break to their parents and carers.
We’ve been running our Chase It! activity programme for young people since 2001 and it’s been a huge success. Thousands of youngsters have met our Chase It team, taken part in leisure centre day camps during school holidays, played football in our parks or enjoyed fun days out at places like Go Ape! and Alton Towers.
We want all children to take part in sport and physical activity. This year, we want to allow young people with disabilities or health issues even more opportunities to take part in our Chase It! programme. We’ve secured external funding from “Aiming High” to help us do just this. We already support disabled young people with trampoline classes, football sessions and other activity clubs. The “Aiming High” funding will enable us to do lots more. Call the Sports Development Team on 01543 464366 for more information.
