Maximising the English passion for volunteering
Budding sports volunteers will soon get more opportunities to roll up their sleeves and get involved in the sports they love.
Sport England is investing £93,000 of Exchequer funding through Volunteering England, our national partner for driving up volunteering in sport.
British Judo goes back to school
Five hundred schools have formed links with local judo clubs thanks to Schools 2 Dojo, a British Judo Association initiative.
The programme encourages children and young people to get involved with judo as either a participant or a volunteer; and rewards schools that forge strong relationships with local clubs.
Girls Allowed scores a hit!
A golf club run by young female volunteers who encourage younger girls to learn the basics of the game in a safe and friendly environment has won a prestigious award.
