Chase It! Summer 2011 programme launch
The school summer holidays are just around the corner and Cannock Chase Council has a packed programme of events and activities lined up to keep youngsters fully entertained.
The Chase It! Summer holiday brochure will be available from Monday 27th June and it’s crammed with fun days out, sporting activities, arts and crafts, special events and much more.
Days out this year include Waterworld, Drayton Manor Theme Park, Shugborough, a London theatre trip, Alton Towers, ten-pin bowling, Tamworth Snowdome and West Midlands Safari Park.
The Council’s Play Rangers will be out and about across the District throughout the summer holidays and will get the break off to a great start with a National Family Play Day at the Museum of Cannock Chase on Sunday 31st July.
The museum itself will also be holding its popular art and craft workshops, and there’s a great Dr Doolittle summer workshop at the Prince of Wales Centre in Cannock for youngsters interested in treading the boards.
There are plenty of sporting activities too at Rugeley Leisure Centre and Chase Leisure Centre in Cannock. Youngsters can take part in a huge range of sporty fun, including swimming, trampolining, badminton, hockey and much more.
All this and much more is featured in the Summer 2011 Chase It! brochure.
Cllr Christine Mitchell, Cannock Chase Council Culture and Sport Portfolio Holder, said: “I know that the long six-week break can be a real headache for parents, so we’ve really laid on a fantastic programme of activities this year. There really is something for everyone, with some great days out, sporting activities, arts and theatre and special events. Our summer holiday activities are always really popular so I’d urge parents to book places as
soon as possible.”
