East Staffordshire School Sports Partnership School Club Links Events 2007 |
East Staffordshire School Sport Partnership hosted two School Club Links events in Burton and Uttoxeter. Over 50 sports clubs attended the two events, aimed at establishing stronger links between the primary, middle and secondary schools and local sports clubs within the School Sport Partnership.
Four workshops were delivered on by the SSP key partners e.g. County Sports Partnership, National Governing Bodies, East Staffordshire Borough Council Sport Development Team and a SSP multi-skills coach on key subjects such as funding applications, club accreditation, developing multiskills and the benefits of working with the local sport development unit.
The two evenings were a great success, with clubs feeling more informed on how the School Sport Partnership can support clubs in developing formal links with schools and the support offered by the CSP, NGB’s and Sport Development. Due to the success and demand for the events, it is expected to be an annual event to maintain the support and sustainability of school club links in the partnership.
