England Star Tracey gives High 5 to County Netball

England Netball star Tracey Neville was the guest of honour at last week’s under 11 County High 5 Netball Tournament. Tracey, who plays for England and Northern Thunder, attended the tournament as part of Sport England’s Sporting Champions scheme, which provides sports stars to inspire young sports talent.

The tournament hosted 13 of the county’s best under 11 netball teams from 7 out of the 9 Staffordshire local authorities at Fenton Manor Sports Complex in Stoke-on-Trent, and proved a fantastic success with Orme House, Newcastle-under-Lyme eventually coming out as tournament winners.

“The tournament was a huge success and a great example to other counties in the area; we’re really grateful to Tracey for supporting our event and I think all the teams who participated gave a great account of themselves and provided a super showcase of emerging talent in the region, “said Netball County Development Officer Carly Hendey. “Hopefully, each team learned something from Tracey’s coaching session which will stand them in good stead for future games.”
