Special Schools Olympics Seeks Sponsors
Sponsors are being sought to support the county’s 2007 Special School Games. The Games, which are organised by Sport Across Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent, are provisionally planned to take place on June 27th at Shobnall Leisure Complex, near Burton, and will involve around 250 budding athletes from the region’s special schools.
The games will feature a number of sports and will aim to provide lasting pathways for the participants to enable them to continue to enjoy and succeed in their chosen activities.
“The games have proved a fantastic success in previous years, but a change in our remit as a County Sports Partnership means that we have limited funds available to support such an event,” commented Sports Manager, Jane Kracke.
“With the 2012 Olympics fast approaching, a number of the larger companies in the County will be hoping to tender for contracts linked with delivering the Olympic Games in London; sponsoring our Special School Games would be a great addition to the CV’s of those potential bidders and would really make a difference to the lives of the children involved, “ said Jason Britton, Business Development Manager for the Partnership, “Last
year’s games cost around £5,000 to stage, and ideally it would be fantastic if we could secure one major partner to sponsor the games. The games will generate tremendous coverage and there’s a chance that the London 2012 Olympic Roadshow will attend on the day.
