Junior netball makes an impact in East Staffordshire |
March 2009 saw the first junior netball league for girls aged 11 - 14. The competition included teams from Burton and the local boroughs competing out on the court to become winners of the first ever Burton and District junior netball league. With some intense and highly competitive netball being played, it was a great showcase of local netball talent and a great opportunity for young girls to become involved with netball outside of school.

Parents, teachers and coaches lined the sports hall to encourage and motivate the young netball athletes. It is hoped that netball clubs involved in the Burton & District adult league will consider the benefits of a junior section and take on board the importance of junior netball in East Staffordshire so that we can inspire more young girls to stay in sport and become inspirational athletes like the local netball star, former England Captain, Olivia Murphy.
