Kick for Children with Cancer is back for 2009! |
CLIC Sargent are urging Staffordshire football clubs and schools to help raise funds for children with cancer and their own football team this summer .
Organised by local schools and clubs, Kick for Children with Cancer events run throughout May to July and encourage kids to be active by getting them involved in penalty shoot-outs, skills classes and tournaments where they're sponsored to take part.
Every day in the UK, 10 families are told their child has cancer or leukaemia. 75% of the money raised by Kick for Children with Cancer will be used by the charity to provide ongoing care and support for those children and their families. The schools and clubs taking part will be able to keep the remaining 25% of the money they raise to use on their own local initiatives.
Organising a Kick for Children with Cancer event is simple. All the fundraising materials that teachers or club leaders need are provided, right down to the footballs! The event can easily fit in with the National Curriculum, with downloadable lesson plans online. Or if you're a club or team, organising a fun event can really liven up a training session!
