SASSOT Sports Club Accreditation funding – 3rd Round Open
The SASSOT Sports Club Accreditation funding scheme was launched in September 2009 with the aim to increase the number of sports clubs being accredited or re-accredited with Clubmark, NGB Accreditation or the SASSOT QualityMark.
The 3rd Round is now open and funding is available to sports clubs who require financial assistance to achieve and pass their accreditation criteria although it cannot be used for NGB coaching qualifications.
All sports clubs benefiting from this funding must be based within Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent to qualify and commit to achieving accreditation within 6 months.
Wombourne Tennis Club, Newcastle Town Netball Club, Wombourne Swimming Club, Staffordshire Cricket Board, Lichfield Friary Lawn Tennis Club, Aston Cricket Club, Winshill Football Club, Newcastle (Staffs) RUFC, Lichfield Hockey Club, Leek Amateur Swimming Club, Endon Tennis Club, Chasers Netball Club, Cannock Hockey Club, Burton Tennis & Squash Club, Burton Rugby Football Club and Able Too United FC were all successful in securing funding in Round 2 for club accreditation or re-accreditation.
Please click here to find out how to apply.
Applications can only be submitted electronically and the 3rd round of applications must be submitted by Wednesday 07th April 2010.

Recruit into Coaching
Sport England have approved the Year 2 Recruit into Coaching (RiC) Delivery Plan releasing £12,500 to support the recruitment and training for at least another 32 new coaches in the Stoke-on-Trent area for the new financial year.
This year Stoke over achieved on the target of 23 set by Sport England, and recruited and began training, 34 new coaching recruits. Each recruit receives an induction, along with basic first aid and CSLA training. Recruits are then allocated a mentor and attend, observe and assist with coaching sessions around the city. Recruits are also given the opportunity to attend an NGB Level 1 course and some of these recruits have already gone on to achieve a
Level 1 UKCC coaching course. A fantastic achievement in such a short space of time.

Workshop Programme May 2010 – March 2011
A programme of workshops is in the final stage of being agreed and dates will be available on the website before the end of April.
The list of workshops includes the following around the Staffordshire County:
Attendance on the workshop Sports Grants and Funding would help you gain a good understanding of making applications for funds that are available for you to access in the Staffordshire County. These funds are there to support the development of your club and your members. The workshop will entail practical examples with guidance from the tutor. Examples of funding applications will also be available for you to take away, together with other useful resources.
Please also note that there will be an increase in cost of delegate workshops. The increases will be noted on the SASSOT website once they have been agreed and confirmed. These changes have been due to the rise in costs of tutors and resources.
As always, please contact me if you have any questions regarding the Workshop Programme.
