Best term yet for Sport Unlimited sets
Sport Unlimited celebrate their best KPIs to date with an encouraging 83% of original target achieved in the Autumn!
Sport Unlimited is a national 3 year programme aimed at getting more young people involved in community sport, targeting the ‘semi-sporty’ sector and the 5-19 year olds across the sub-region of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
We are currently in the final term of year 2 and have recently done our monitoring and evaluation fot the Autumn term by collating KPIs across the districts, and are very proud to say that we have achieved an excellent 83% of our original target for that term. This means, that the activities that took place across our region managed to successfully retain 2450 of the 2929 targeted participants (retain is measured by a participant attending at least 60% or more of the 8-10 week sessions).
We are achieving good results, term on term, this being the best so far! Tremendous work has gone into Sport Unlimited by all involved in the programme and also into the year 3 delivery plan, that has recently been recommended for approval by Sport England with much compliment on the diverse range of activities planned. We are looking forward to completing our final term of year 2 setting the trend into what will hopefully be an even better year 3!!
SASSOT Achieve Sporting Champions for
Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent are just one of 15 CSPs selected for the Sporting Champions scheme for Sport Unlimited.
Sporting Champions is a Sport England initiative bringing world-class sports people face-to-face with young people to inspire and motivate them. The scheme is aligned with Sport Unlimited, which forms part of the Government PE and Sport Strategy for Young People (PESSYP). SASSOT were successful in their bid for this scheme which will offer to us the ability to tap into a series of visits to support the delivery of activities and increase the likelihood of growing the participation base, retaining young people through to week 8 or 10 of the programme and successful transition into sustainable exit routes in clubs etc.
