Sports Club Accreditation Funding - 7th Round Open
The SASSOT Sports Club Accreditation funding scheme aims to increase the number of sports clubs being accredited or re-accredited with Clubmark, NGB Accreditation or the SASSOT QualityMark.
The 7th round is now open and up to £500 worth of funding is available to sports clubs who require financial assistance to achieve and pass their accreditation criteria.
All sports clubs benefiting from this funding must be based within Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent to qualify and commit to achieving accreditation within 6 months.
Applications can only be received from sports clubs, National Governing Bodies of Sport, Local Councils or school partners.
Bradwell Bombers FC and Burntwood St Matthews Cricket Club were all successful in securing funding in Round 6 for club accreditation or re-accreditation.

Aiming High: Disability Sport and Physical Activity
Disabilit-e News provides information about what is happening within the county, nationally and in the elite world of disability sport. It will also advertises courses, clubs, events and success stories to motivate and inspire.There is also a dedicated section on Aiming High and the good work it is doing to promote activity based short breaks for disabled children and families.
This publication will be produced twice a month and you can see previous editions and subscribe to receive Disabilit-e News directly on a page of SASSOT's website.

Active People Survey 5
The fifth year of the survey, Active People Survey 5, started in mid October 2010 and will run continuously for 12 months until the middle of October 2011. During the course of 2011, quarterly results based on the most recent 12 month rolling period will be published. The latest quarterly results are now available to view at the Sport England website.

Funding Available for Training Opportunities
Applicants are expected to create and tailor their training experience to help them develop new skills for use in their current role.

If you are familiar with the SASSOT Workshop Programme, you will hopefully have had the opportunity to get onto one of the many free disability workshops.

There are limited places available – so please hurry if you need to attend.
We are awaiting confirmation on more funding, so we are in a position to be able to offer future free disability workshops. Please keep checking the Workshop programme - on the SASSOT website.
We aim to offer a wide variety of workshops to help clubs, coaches and volunteers develop and keep up to date with topics such as child protection, disability, equity, mentoring, funding and fitness. Our workshops are organised in partnership with sports coach UK, runningsports and RLSS as a First Aid provider.
If you need to attend Equity in Your Coaching – the earliest date is Wednesday 30 March 2011 – at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council offices, Leek. Cost is £25.00 – please click on link below to book.
If you find that you cannot attend the workshops we have planned, contact Kam and she will help you find alternatives.
Remember also that CLOSED workshops can be planned to suit the needs of a Club / organisation – in terms of the date, venue and time.
