Energise Plus leisure card looks to broaden its success
Energise Plus is a joint venture between Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Stoke PCT to encourage sedentary residents of the city to engage in regular exercise. Since its launch just over two years ago the scheme has smashed all targets regarding up take and use. Over 25,000 people now hold Energise Plus cards with the great majority renewing each year and new users being added every day.
The Energise Plus team have put their heads together to refine and improve the package of free and discounted activities. Card holders will soon be able to get great discounts on exercise classes, football hire, gym use, racquet sports, visits to health spas and even crazy golf! As for swimming, card holders not only get great discounts but also get to swim for free during certain sessions.
To spread the word and encourage even more people to join the new look Energise Plus scheme a team from Stoke-on-Trent City Councils Sports and Leisure Department are about to embark on a special Energise Easter road show. They have 5000 free Energise Plus cards worth over £25,000 to hand out to anyone who has yet to experience the great activity savings available throughout the year.
Starting on the 28 and 29 of March the road show team will set up there giveaway stall in the University Hospital of North Staffordshire’s Outpatients Department. On the 30 March you’ll find them at Asda Wolstanton and on the 31 of March and 1 April they will be in the Potteries Shopping Centre. Finally, on the 4 and 5 of April the road show will visit the brand new Tesco Extra in Hanley. If anyone would like to grab their free card
the team will be at each venue between 9.30am and 5pm.
