Holiday Golf Coaching Course Tees Off

 

Disabled youngsters across Stafford Borough took part in fun golf coaching sessions during February half-term. 

 

The course was part of the Sports Development Team’s holiday activity programme and aimed to provide opportunities for disabled young people to access something different during the school holiday.

 

The sessions catered for young people with a range of impairments and participants were given one to one coaching to help them develop the basics of the game.  Qualified coach Craig Thomas led the 3 day course which took place at Sir Graham Balfour High School in Stafford. 

 

 

Participants were introduced to the various techniques and skills involved in the sport and then put these into practice in fun competitions and games.  One of the youngsters who took part in the course has continued playing and is now attending a weekly coaching session that Craig runs at Cannock Park on a Saturday morning.
